Y5 Bake Sale for the Refugee Crisis

2nd October 2015
Emily, Esther, Eve, Hollie, Isobel and Maisy asked at the start of term if they could organise a Bake Sale to raise money to help people caught in the current refugee crisis. We decided that the Save the Children Child Refugee Appeal would be a good cause to donate to. The girls managed all the publicity and with just a tiny amount of support, galvanised their class into baking for today's sale. It was a roaring success! Dylan's mum baked an amzing chocolate sweetie cake which was sold to the highest bidder and there were cakes and buns galore. The total raised this afternoon was £179.60. We had a donation from a parent earlier this week which followed on from last week's Harvest Festival and so the total being donated to Save the Children's appeal is a fantastic £229.60. Well done to the girls for organising such a successful fundraiser and thank you to Y5 for really working together to make it a success.
