Sports Day 2014

17th July 2014
The weather was glorious and the children had a great day, participating in Sports Day today. The morning saw Key Stage 1 and Reception competing in house teams, first in a carousel of activities designed to test their throwing, balancing, jumping, dribbling and teamwork, then in competitive races on a class by class basis. A fantastic crowd of parents and carers joined us to cheer the children on, before giving us a record turnout for adult races! At lunch time, Richmond were in the lead with 452 points, followed by Whiteley on 369 points, Westbourne on 356 points and Granville on 293 points.

The afternoon brought Key Stage 2's turn, following a similar format and with an equally supportive crowd cheering them on and stepping up to race in Ladies', Men's and Parent and Child races. After a good-natured but keenly fought contest, the final outcome was:

4th: Whiteley (797 [points)
3rd: Granville (936 points)
2nd: Richmond (1108 points)
Winner: Westbourne (1114 points)

Well done to everyone for a sporting triumph!
