Leeds Children's Mayor

1st October 2019
We were so proud to hear last term that Gracie (now in Y6) had been selected as one of the finalists for Leeds Children's Mayor. Gracie's manifesto idea was to set up a pen pal scheme between children and older people in residential and sheltered accommodation, to provide companionship, combat loneliness and to strengthen our communities. Gracie spent the summer campaigning and this evening she attended Leeds Civic Hall, along with all the other finalists, to present their manifestos, meet Leeds Mayor and hear the result of the voting right across Leeds. Unfortunately, Gracie wasn't elected but we are so proud of her and her fantastic idea. We hope this will inspire her to get involved in making our communities better places as she grows up!
