Friends of Westgate

Friends of Westgate is the parent and teacher association that organises fund-raising and social activities for Westgate families. In the last two years we’ve raised well over £10,000 for the school as well as well over £1000 for other charities (Barths Syndrome Trust, Martin House and our link school in Nepal). The money raised has been used to buy a class set of djembe drums and ukuleles, to part-fund a significant ICT development and to improve the outdoor play spaces at Westgate.

We aim to offer a variety of family-friendly activities, child-centred events and parents’ nights, which include our annual sponsored orienteering event on the Chevin, a Beetle Drive, a school disco, curry at The Westbourne Spice, an Easter Fair, and regular cake stalls. Friends of Westgate events are always really well-supported and help pupils and their families feel part of the whole school community in a fun and relaxed way. The minutes of recent meetings are available for you to download below, along with the Constitution of the Friends of Westgate.

If you’d like to help us plan and organise our events, please do come along to one of our half termly meetings. We are always looking for new ideas and everyone is welcome – just turn up! Our meeting dates are publicised in the school newsletters and on the calendar section of the website. We usually meet in The Fleece Pub. Hope to see you there…

Our meeting minutes are uploaded to our Facebook page.
