Leeds Lieder

this is the third year we took part in Discovering Lieder, but, because of the pandemic, it's the first time we have been able to come together with other participating schools for a final concert.
Y5 enjoyed a workshop at school last week, in which they learned about Lieder, or Artsong, and wrote a new verse for Schubert's Das Wandern, which you can hear below
Today, they went to Pudsey Civic Hall with other schools, to listen to a recital from 3 members of Leeds Lieder, and to perform their verse alongside everyone else's!
This is a unique opportunity to hear a completely different kind of live singing to the usual things children may get to experience. In the words of one of the children, "It was fantastic!"
