Chevin Learning Partnership Musical Extravaganza

20th March 2018
We were very pleased and proud to take part in this now annual event this evening, which is in its 4th year. Almost 60 children in Y3- Y6 from Westgate took part, either as part of Orchestra, Choir, or in some cases, both! Our children performed alongside ensembles, both singing and instrumental groups, from all of our local schools: All Saints CE Primary School, Ashfield Primary School, Bramhope Primary School, Prince Henry's Grammar School, Pool-in-Wharfedale CE Primary School, St Joseph's RC Primary School and The Whartons Primary School. You can find the programme below, alng with some pictures of our performances.
Our Orchestra performed 'Scat Cat Swing' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean', while Choir sang 'You've Got A Friend In Me' and 'Nobody Knows'. All the singers and musicians from across the Partnership then came together at the end for a rousing performance of 'Don't Look Back In Anger'.
This event has grown each year and it was fantastic to see so many children and young people engaged in high-quality music-making. It is another great example of how by working together locally we can create better opportunities for all our pupils.
