Admissions

In-Year Admissions for 5-11 year olds are managed by school, in consultation with Leeds Admissions Team. If you are moving to Otley, give us a ring and check if we have spaces in the year group you are interested in or to arrange a visit- at present all classes from Reception to Year 6 are full; however, this can change at short notice and occasionally children may be admitted to a class that is already full through the appeals process. There is an In-Year Common Preference form which you can download below and which must be completed and returned to school.

For places to start school in Reception, parents need to apply online or use the LEA preference form which is sent to your home address, by Children Leeds, early in the school year prior to their starting in Reception. This can also be done on-line by following the link at the bottom of this page. This process continues to be managed by Leeds Admissions Team.

Parents can put their child on the waiting list for the Nursery class at any time. If places are available, children may start Nursery the term after their third birthday. We offer up to 30 free hours of Nursery education subject to parents' eligibility, and parents my pay for additional hours on top of their free entitlement, subject to availability, at £4.20 per hour. Places and attendance patterns are offered in line with our Nursery Admissions policy. Parents can choose from any of the 10 3-hour sessions across the week and they may also use our Out of School club, WOOSH, for before and after school care. For children who stay over lunchtime, children are provided with a hot, 2 course meal cooked in our school kitchen, for which there is a charge of £2.05 per day.

If you would like to know anything more about getting a place for your child at Westgate, please ring Amy Bleasdale in the school office – (01943) 462349. Our Nursery Admissions policy is based on Leeds' model policy, and is available to read below.
