Second Hand Clothing
The school has a supply of good quality, second hand clothing which is available to parents at a nominal cost per item. There is no guarantee that the school will have all sizes available at any one time since all items are donated. Parents should ask about second hand items in the first instance when purchasing uniform to reduce the impact of the clothing production industry on the environment. Pupils who entitled to Pupil Premium funding may have any second-hand uniform items from school stock free of charge.
Suppliers
The majority of the uniform is unbranded and can be bought from a wide range of retailers. Branded items such as jumpers and PE hoodies can be purchased from:
Jewellery
Jewellery is not permitted to be worn in school except for stud earrings and a sensible wristwatch – children should not bring into school ‘smart’ watches. If any jewellery or any other ‘ear-wear’ is worn into school, children will be asked to remove it.
We strongly encourage parents who wish to have their children’s ears pierced to do so at the start of the summer holiday. This allows time for healing before the new school year, when children will need to remove earrings for PE lessons. While taping earrings can help reduce the risk of injury, it is not as effective as removing them entirely.
