Equality Duty at Westgate

We have an Equality & Diversity working group, drawn from all sections of our school community, which grew out of our work on what was the Stephen Lawrence Education Standard (2006- 2012). We are also fortunate to have strong links with our Family of Schools, which has enabled joint work to promote Equality and Diversity.

Both the accessibility and equalities plans are reviewed regularly by governors and staff, and progress against each objective is evaluated annually.

We have a robust system in place to manage hate incidents in school, which are also logged with the local authority. You can read the procedure below.
